With the advancing technology and looking at the competitive features brought up by the companies, it is no surprise that the DDR4 memory technology will quickly be going in with the 13th Gen Core CPUs known as ‘Raptor Lake.’ Right on the go, the Raptor Lake series use the same desktop LGA1700 socket, comprising the same architecture as the Alder Lake. Even with so much into the blend, there is no surety if the Z790 series will include DDR4 memory variants or not.
While the DDR4 variants of some boards can be seen in the list of ASRock’s Z790 and H770 motherboards, without being the complete list, some models are said to be in the works.

We can see models from Phantom Gaming Lightning/Riptide, Steel Legend, Pro, and the Taichi series, as the company has its eyes on making the Z790 flagship and H770 mid-range series run. Biostar confirmed notable work on the Z790 and B760 series, probably around January. According to the latest information from ASRock, it is probable that all chipsets will be ready to hit the markets at the same time with a time expense of nearly half a year from now.
This year, we will see the Intel Raptor Lake CPUs in action between Q3 and Q4. Having increased the Efficient core count to 16, these are the advanced Intel 7 processors. It points to the fact that there will be twice the number of Gracemont (small) cores in Raptor Lake compared to Alder Lake. In addition, some decent upgrades to overclocking are also seen in the listed features.
A piece of information is that the 13th Gen Core CPUs will be good to go with Alder Lake systems and vice versa. With these motherboards going toe to toe with AMD X670(E) /B650 series ready for next-gen Zen4 Ryzen processors, there is no official confirmation from Intel about how the 700-series chipsets have an apparent upper hand over the current generation. To look forward to it, we must keep our wait in check and look out for what the company holds for its consumers.
